FOUNDING HISTORY

History of the Establishment of the Tunas Iblam Foundation

The Tunas Iblam Foundation was founded on May 10, 2005, by Dr. H. Edy Susanto, MH, MM, MA, an academic and educator deeply concerned with the advancement of education in Indonesia. Prior to establishing the foundation, he had already contributed to higher education by establishing the IBLAM School of Law, which offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in law.

Recognizing the importance of early childhood education as a primary foundation for national character development, he established the Tunas Iblam Foundation, which focuses on early childhood and elementary education. The foundation was officially established by notary B. Wirastuti Puntaraksma, SH, and is located at Jl. Raden Sanim No. 100, Tanah Baru, Beji, Depok.

The foundation’s founding is closely linked to the rapid development of globalization, information technology, and changing lifestyles. The challenges of today demand educational institutions that not only impart knowledge but also shape the character, spirituality, and competitiveness of Indonesian children.

With this spirit, the Tunas Iblam Foundation established three formal educational institutions:

  • Tunas Iblam Playgroup
  • Tunas Iblam Kindergarten (TK)
  • Tunas Iblam Elementary School (SD)

All three are designed as schools that integrate religious values, a scientific approach, and the development of 21st-century skills, so that students not only excel academically but also develop noble character, creativity, and are prepared to face future challenges.

The establishment of Tunas Iblam also aligns with the message of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him):
“Educate your children according to their times, for they will live in a time different from yours.”

The Tunas Iblam Foundation exists as a concrete manifestation of this hope—creating a quality, meaningful, and relevant learning environment to nurture a generation of intelligent and characterful future leaders.
